Improved Business Logo

I  have updated our logo. Slightly. Same design, but with some mods to the font, colors and background. I am in the process of creating signs, using our improved business logo, for our "brick & mortar" store located on Main Street in North Fork, CA.  Our budget is tiny, so materials for this project must be inexpensive and the labor will be "in-house".

I've also had a stack of my new business cards, featuring the new logo, printed up. I think they look very good. I am proud to hand them to current and future customers alike.

This business logo is filled with meaning for me.

Jennie's  Garden
The name Jennie's Garden is in honor of my Mom, Jennie. She was a wonderful gardener. I always said that she could grow popsicles from popsicle sticks! She had a very green thumb and was a gifted gardener. Her garden was always filled all sorts of beautiful plants, trees and creative garden art.

The Butterfly
To me, butterflies symbolize freedom, "change & growth" (metamorphosis) and beauty. All things that I value and that are important to me at this stage in my life. This particular butterfly in my logo shows us her rather whimsical flight path, with twists, turns and loops. It is not a straight line from point A to point B, nor is it a perfect or structured path. This butterfly has chosen (another important point) to be daring and fly right between the two largest words in the logo. Our butterfly flies from below the big G in Garden, right between the words, playfully to the top of the word Garden. It dances and teases us as it flies. This is on purpose. Her purpose. The butterfly flies higher as it moves and grows. I admire this butterfly. She inspires me to change & grow....and fly.

The Tagline ~ Hands-On, Handmade & Homegrown
"Hands-On" refers mostly to the certified massage therapy services that I offer. I have been a practicing massage therapist for the past 18 years. I have a private, soothing & quiet massage therapy room behind the retail portion of my new shop. After all of these years, I have finally moved my massage business out of my home and into its own dedicated therapy room in the center of our small town. So the move allowed me to have my home privacy back, and my massage clients have an interesting downtown retail district to browse, including my new shop, before or after their massage appointments. So far the reactions from my massage clients have been 100% positive!

Handmade & Homegrown means that my physical retail shop will be filled with a beautiful and creative collection (my garden) of handmade and homegrown items. Quality items. Something to appeal to everyone. Items made by hand in the USA by craft makers and artisans that I know personally. With an emphasis on local products, made or grown with care by creative individuals. Relationships will form and grow over time. There will be stories behind each product and each artisan's journey. A garden of beauty, growth & change.

There will also be a small section of my shop that will display quality vintage items for sale as part of my interest in recycling and renewal. Not a swap meet or yard sale, but very nice, most like new, vintage items for your home or garden. All of these vintage items will have been personally owned by me or my family members prior to being offered for sale. So each item's origin and history is known.

The Logo Colors
The bright green color of the main logo text exudes the energy of a thriving Springtime garden to me. I visualize flowers and veggies bursting forth offering up their bounty of goodness to the tending gardener. The purple butterfly and tagline text are fun and playful. Purple adds some pizazz and energy. Both colors spoke to me. I really like how both colors complement each other.

So there you have it. My "Edith Bunker" version of my thought process and decisions behind my new business logo design for Jennie's Garden. Way more than you probably ever wanted to know.......
